Notebook charging problem

Hi, my problem is that every time I plug in the power adapter, my notebook keeps changing from "charging" to "not charging", every second. It's as if I was plugging the power adapter in and off every second. And consequently it doesn't charge the battery, and I can only charge it when it's off.

Any ideas?

It could be your battery, but the best way to know that is if you have another charger to try or battery
