nothing but black

So my phone will cut on but the screen stays black. I've tried turning it off andd on and i did the stuff i found online and nothing worked. Help me please!?

So there is no response at all from the screen? It's possible you just have a broken screen if the rest of the phone still appears to work and turns on.
