nothing comes up on screen or external video but it all loads up just nothing on screen

Hi,

Please do try removing the ribbon cable that connects the LCD to the motherboard. Once disconnected, connect just the external monitor again and see if it will work or not. If the same problem will persist that could mean that the GPU of your laptop is already faulty and a repair would be necessary.
