Hello everyone!

I recently bought the Dell Inspiron 7559 laptop with the following specs:

i7-6700HQ
8 GB ram
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M 4GB GDDR5

I encountered a strange problem when playing a game (my laptop meets the system requirements) called Hyperdimension Neptunia Re Birth1, there is a horizontal line that appears from the top left to bottom right corner of the screen when the camera is moved (screen tearing?).

The game does not have any configurations settings such as turning V-Sync on (I believe it is an OpenGL game). So I have tried forcing V-Sync to always on in the Nvidia Control Panel as well as turning on triple buffering. I have also updated the graphic drivers to the latest version which did not fix the problem.

However, what makes the matter even more strange is that only when the laptop is plugged in and charging does the screen tearing occur. When the laptop is not charging there are no graphical issues and the game works perfect.

I was wondering if anybody knows what is causing this and if there is a possible fix?

Thank you

Hi,

Please do try these troubleshooting steps that may help but if it will not work I would suggest taking it back for a replacement.
- Go to Device Manager and uninstall the Nvidia graphics driver.
- Next is to open Programs and Features then uninstall anything related to Nvidia.
- Once done, download and install the latest driver.
- Here's the link: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx
- Reboot the laptop once the driver has been installed.
- After the reboot, do set Nvidia as the default GPU again.

- And lastly, do also change the power management settings in Nvidia as well.

Hello,

Thank you for your support, I have carried out the steps you have stated but still have a problem with this screen tearing in the game. What would be causing the game to work perfectly when the laptop is not charging, but have graphical issues the moment I start charging the laptop?
