[citation][nom]nebun[/nom]obama is on idiot along with all those who voted for him......[/citation]
[citation][nom]danielravennest[/nom]The reason there have been so many lately is the financial meltdown from 2007, and the lack of jobs. This created lots of pissed off people who might end up rioting in the streets. The Occupy Wall Street movement was an early stage of that. Not rioting, but showing how pissed off people were that they came out to demonstrate. The bankers and politicians are running scared that the US could follow in the footsteps of other popular revolutions. Therefore we see:* Militarization of the police (giving them lots of military-class weapons)* Spying online, so they can detect people organizing* Gun control regulations to disarm the population* Labeling anyone they don't like as terrorists, money launderers, hackers, and child pornographers.and many more actions along the same lines. Whenever any of these actions come up, ask yourself if it protects the bankers and politicians from *us*. In the story above, that is explicit:"...protecting critical U.S. infrastructure as cyber attacks continue to affect the country's banks and government departments." - yup, running scared.I expect them to try and regulate 3D printers sometime soon, because you can use them to print gun parts.[/citation]
I especially am weary of the computer crimes portion of this. Example: Child porn... Think about it... They (fbi, dea, or some other corrupt cop) break into your home with a shady warrant and an under-the-table USB HDD full of kiddie porn.
With a gun pointed at the back of your head and you lying face down on the floor in cuffs in the other room, they plug this it into your computer and Windows happily PnP's the drive. One of the goons runs a script that rapidly opens/closes several pre-selected images to set some audit logs and access times on the file system to be entered into evidence later against you.
Guess what, they found exactly what they expected to find. All the proof they need.
And that is the end of you...
//quick digress
Al Capone was put away for tax evasion. Not what the feds really wanted him for, but it got them a similar result and they used it. The same logic applies here folks...
