Ok i have a sony trinitron and im trying to hook my direct tv to it but it do not have a hdmi port ,so we bought a cord with a hd on one side for the direct and the yellow, white,red,and blue and green,need help on hooking up ,I've tried everything and it's for my daughter so please help.

You can't use a passive cord to connect them.
HDMI is digital and RCA is analog.
You need an active HDMI to AV converter.
