Old 5.1 speakers with New Player

I have a 5-6 year old Sony DAV-DZ270 5.1 channel home theatre system. But its player is very large for the home decor. I wish to buy a new compact DVD player, but I want to use the old speakers with it. Is that possible? how?

No. The "large" player also contains the decoder and amplifiers. To replace it, you would have to have a DVD player AND a surround sound receiver. That would be even larger.
