Old Computer Question

I have a Dell Latitude laptop with no OS. Do I need to buy a new OS or do I need the Previous version?

You should be able to buy and install the os of your choice.
You will need to find and install all of the various drivers that a laptop needs.

If, by chance, you have the required os product code affixed to your laptop, it could be used to activate an install. You will need to download and the appropriate os version.

What model Latitude is it? That may help to suggest an appropriate OS.

its probably a windows xp or 7 that was originally installed onto there, you can most of the time find a product key underneath the laptop, look around you'll know it when you see it. If you find that head on over to this site and download win xp sp3 and install it onto a USB key or DVD, or of course windows 7

From there you'll probably wanna write down your product key that you may or may not find underneath the laptop and you'll use that to activate it. If you dont find a product key then yes, you will have to purchase a brand new Product Key

Also if you're able to provide the model number that would help a lot, you need to be sure you meet the spec requirements if your going to install anything other than windows xp or you'll get a very sluggish machine. Model number just as the product key will be located underneath the laptop
