MY HP DV5000 IS NOT DISPLAYING BUT WORKING WITH AN EXTERNAL MONITOR...WHAT COULD BE THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM?

Broken lcd inverter
The backlight is dead
No power is reaching the backlight
Display connector between lcd is somehow broken

* Go to a service center for your laptop. Based on your post, I doubt you have the know-how on how to disassemble (and put back together) your laptop, and also finding the necessary parts. There is little to nothing you could do for your laptop at this point.
