I wish manufacturers didn't copy Apple's silliness, such as the screen notch / "sensor island", or removal of 3.5mm audio jack etc. I have some friends and colleagues using iPhone X, and all of them, without exception, hate the screen notch...

Nobody loves the notch. It would be nice if it wasn't there. But I recognize that it is necessary given the technology involved. If your “friends” truly hate the notch, they shouldn't have bought the iPhone X to begin with.
