Solution A A americanaudiophile Feb 9, 2015 Here is a link to the firmware upgrade for your receiver with instructions. http/www.onkyousa.com/Products/model.php?m=TX-NR636&class=Receiver It does no specifically mention the update doing anything for the HDMI but maybe they consider this a "bug".

G Guest Guest Feb 7, 2015 #2 Sounds like a fault to me. I assume its not shut away in a cabinet where it might be overheating. Is there perhaps a 'sleep mode' enabled in settings? You could try flashing the BIOS to latest version (if not already). Upvote 0 Downvote
