optical splitter to add hearing aid audio xmttr to TV

I have purchased a Phonak xmttr to connect to a television. It comes with RCA, 3.5 to 3.5 and optical hookup options. The only optical output on the TV is is use by the soundbar. The only other outputs are HDMI. Should I try an optical splitter or a hdmi to RCA adapter?

You probably need a splitter. Most devices won't output more than one signal at once.
