Google+ allows you to optimize the header for your profile. If you are using your Google+, the recommended size for a header is 1080 x 608. If you have created your business or brand page on Google+, you can use the maximum size of 2120 x 1192 for the image.
The minimum acceptable size for the header image is 480 x 270.

- ■Open your favorite web browser. (Google Chrome in this demonstration.)
■In the address bar, type www.google+.com and press Enter.
■If prompted, provide your login credentials in the appropriate fields and click Sign in.
■From the Home page, hover the mouse over the Home link located at the top-left corner.
■From the displayed menu, click Profile.
■Once the Profile webpage opens up, hover mouse over the header (cover picture).
■Click the Change cover button that appears at the bottom-right corner of the header.
■On the next redirected page, click to select the appropriate tab (i.e. Gallery, Upload, Albums, or Cover photos) from the top from where you wish to choose your cover image. (Gallery in this demonstration.)
■From the displayed images, hover your mouse over the picture that you wish to select as the header.
■Click on the ‘Tick’ that appears at the top-left corner of the image.
Note: If the image is not already in the photo gallery of your Google+ account, you can choose the Upload option when on step 8, and select an image from your hard drive.
■When the next webpage comes up, drag the square box on the picture to select the area of the image that you want to be displayed as your cover photo.
■Once this is done, click Select cover photo from the bottom-left corner to set the image as the header.
