or is there a way to remove the patch to go back to previous setting?

I have the same problem when I pae patch in order to increase my RAM. My installed RAM is only 2Gb and I increased virtual memory RAM to 4G. However still slow, no difference. Then I patch a PAE and upon restarting, it goes to repair till it says the PAE patch is corrupted.

So any advise how to go back without PAE patch?

I am using Acer netbook.
