Other people can\'t hear me while calling...?

Why do other people I'm calling cannot hear me although I can hear them? They will be able to hear me only when I switch on the speaker phone or use the hands free gadget. Please help..

I'd take it back to verizon/att. Unless you arn't speaking into the mic, you probably have a hardware issue.
