outdoor speakers on top of 7.1 indoor

So i have a 7.1 setup inside my house and want to add 2 outdoor speakers for being able to hear when i am on the patio cooking, or just outside with my daughter playing during football games and whatnot.

I know my receiver has A,B speaker set ups. If i just turn it to where both are on, will set B(outdoor) be able to play stereo simultaneously as the 7.1 in the house? or will i have to switch the setting every time i want to turn them on to be on stereo?

You should have three settings. A Only, B Only, and A+B. With this last setting, you should have audio coming from all nine speakers. Best test I know of: The Cars: Moving in Stereo. Set your system to A+B, get this song playing and head outside. You'll know immediately if you have true stereo sound.

That depends on your receiver, many will use 2 of the amps from the 7.1 setup to amplify the secondary speakers in which case you will be left with 5.1 at best.

Not a big deal, i wont be using this set up while watching movies, but mainly sports. I wont just leave it on on. I just want to make sure the two speakers outside are getting stereo setup while A+B are on. If not, then i can just set it to B when I go outside.
