Output audio from Sony Bravia SNY-KDL48W650D to Pioner xv-dv787

I would like to have the audio from the TV emitting from the Pioneer surround system.
Have tried connecting using HDMI & RCA cables but none was successful.
Had set the speaker at TV to audio system. What else configuration needed at the Pioneer system?

Your TV has a digital audio out. Your Pioneer has a digital audio in.

Connect them up.

Select your digital audio in on the Pioneer.

You may need to turn the optical output on and turn the TV speakers off in the TV menu to get it working..
