I bought a Pioneer CLD 1190 player today as a back up machine. Everything
works except, it appears the fold down door opens to wide which in turn can
cause the tray to either hang up or strike the middle of the door when it is
extended out about 2 inches. If I hold the door up maybe a 8th of an inch,
there is no binding.

Not sure what to say. Maybe the arm that opens the door is not exactly in
the correct spot, hard to say. Maybe something is bent but it is probably
all plastic. I've never worked on a CLD1190. Hard to tell you what to do
without seeing it.
