Panasonic lumix problem DMC-LZ6

When camera is turned on, it stays on for ~3 seconds and then displays:'Please turn camera off and then on again". We've done that, changed batteries, switched the camera setting (turnwheel on top of camera), and have replaced memory card; it continues to do this. What could be causing this? The camera is unusable because of this repeated message.

It sounds as if you've explored the usual troubleshooting steps. I guess it's back to the dealer to see if it's economic to repair (or if you've overlooked something simple).

My dmc-lz5 does the same thing. The owners manual says excessive pressure was put on the lens, take to repair shop for service. I have not taken mine for repair, still waiting for someone to come up with a solution. Good luck.
