Panasonic theater connected to PC

Hello,
I have a panasonic SA-PT22home theater set up. I have connected it to my PC for audio only by hooking into the AUX plugs? No sound is coming out of the speakers. Is there a trick? Will this work to amplify the audio only?

It looks like that speaker system uses a DVD player rather than a receiver, correct? I am not sure if you can run audio from your PC through a DVD player.

I use an optical cable running from my mobo to a Pioneer receiver. You might have to go down that path if you want to use your home theater with your PC. Perhaps someone else may know of a way.
