Looked around and can't find where someone else has asked this question. Anyways, I'm trying to connect my old laptop to use as an HTPC to my TV via an HDMI switch (too many devices, not enough ports). The computer refuses to see the TV. However, if I connect the TV directly to the computer (without the switch) it works. Any thoughts? The laptop is an old Sony Vaio with nVidia GT330M graphics. Fresh install of Windows 7 and newest drivers. Side note: If I plug my macbook in, it's able to identify the TV through the switch, so that tells me the EDID is getting through.

check the resolution settings on the PC. when the macbook "connects", what is connecting at (res wise) and further what tv are you talking about... it might narrow down the universe a bit... :) "refuses to see the TV" is not too, what error messages are you getting, what is the tv indicating?
