when I access my internet on my Toshiba laptop, a message box appears on certain websites that says "object error", and wont let me click anything. the only way to get it off my screen is to access the task manager and end the web session completely. is there any way that I can stop this from happening permanently?

try using mozilla firefox or google chrome for internet browsing....

they are free and IMO better browser than IE...

u can get it from here:

FF : http/www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/
chrome : https/www.google.com/intl/en/chrome/browser/

edit : if u wanna stick with IE, try running update for IE via browser or via windows update...
