PC to A/V Receiver No bass when playing music

I'm using HDMI from a GTX 780ti graphics card to my sony av receiver. Games and movies all produce bass from the subwoofer. Music does not. Subwoofer doesn't even light up. I've tried all the sound fields on the receiver and 3 different players on the pc. I can't get it to work and it's driving me nuts. Any suggestions?

Check you've set 5.1 coming out of your 780ti

Sounds like bass management is turned off on the sony avr. If the speakers are set to large, it's going to be straight 2.0, no sub. What's the model of the avr?

Music is Stereo... just put the Amp in stereo mode

I assume it's in 2 Channel/A Direct mode. Choose AFD Auto. It will give you two channel stereo + sub or 5-channel stereo + sub.
