Solved! PC to HDTV - VGA to HDMI

Hello,

I am attempting to connect my Dell Inspiron 1520 to my Panasonic Plasma HDTV. The problem I am running into is that my Dell only has a VGA port, while my HDTV only has HDMI ports (and also composite ports, but I want the best picture here). From my understanding this means that I will need a converter box. Can anyone recommend one to me? I did come across this one on Amazon: http/www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...pr_product_top

So I just received this product: http/www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=101&cp_id=10114&cs_id=1011404&p_id=6191&seq=1&format=2

I can't seem to connect it to my plasma. The connections seem to be all correct, yet my plasma is still saying that it is receiving No Signal and I'm not sure why this is. I've messed around with the resolutions as well. It seems that my display settings on my laptop recognize the VGA connection. Calling it a Non-Generic PnP Monitor. Any suggestions?

I have some bad experience with monoprice before on their 4x2 Matrix. But that does not mean their VGA product is bad.
Since VGA is a very \\old technology, I'm guessing the monoprice does not like the resolution you are playing. Try a different resolution.
