PC with TV

I connected my PC to my TV and I accidentally made the resolution too great. I have it hooked up through VGA but I have the HDMI plugged in as well. Now there is nothing there and it says that there is an unsupported video signal. How can I fix this? Please help!!!

That message says the resolution your PC sending not compatible with what the TV is capable off.

Go back to the PC, try the other resolutions offered.

Sometimes, the TV vendor helpfully would have the exact (Windows?) driver you need.

Turn off the HDTV and shut down your PC. Disconnect everything going from the PC to the HDTV except the HDMI cable. Turn on the HDTV and set to the HDMI input (if multiple inputs, set to the one the PC is connected to). Power up your computer and make sure your HDTV is set to the HDMI input. Any luck?
