PC won't play through TV and Sonos

I have a custom gaming PC in my office, and I bought a 25 foot HDMI cable so I could use my tv as a second screen occasionally and use Kodi/other media apps to play kids movies for my daughter in the living room. I figured out everything except how to get the sound to play in the living room. My tv is a 4k samsung that is connected to a sonos playbar via optical cord. Any sound that plays through the tv automatically comes through the playbar. Can someone help me please?

It is not uncommon for TVs to send audio our only for TV programs. You better check this with Samsung support, may be there a seeing our software upgrade which will allow for that.

Your other option would be to use audio extractor plugged between the pc and the TV, feeding your Sonos.

Well, the sonos speaker works for my ps4 when I play that through and HDMI to the tv

Have you selected the HDMI output on your PC as the audio device?
