PeachTree Report Size Limitation?

Hello All,
I'm using an older version of Peachtree (2004 premium) and modifying a financial statement report. When I add new lines to the report, I save and close without error however when I reopen the report, I'm getting the error:
"the report design has more than 255 line definitions in the body of the report. please reduce the number of these"
Is this a size limitation of Peachtree reports? How can I work around this issue?
Thanks in advance.

Sage_50 / Peachtree accounting dates back to 1978; that's some very outdated software design you may have inherited there.

But in all seriousness, 255 lines is a stupid and deliberate limitation... just migrate to a product that isn't deliberately impaired as it'll save you a fortune in the long run.

Yes it is a very restrictive limitation which doesn't make much sense. Thanks for the response Tabris.
Also, has anyone else encountered this error first hand, and know of any possible workarounds within peachtree?
