performance while plugged and unplugged

so when i play minecraft while i have my laptop plugged i get like 100fps when i unplug it, it doesnt pass 30 fps
i set the battery performance to prefered performance in the nivida control panel, and in game its set to max fps and i set my power options to high performance and tweaked it to the best performance and still doesnt help
my laptop spec:
i7-4510U
GeForce 820M
8gb ram
1tb HDD

Go to power options in control panel. It is dumbing down you laptop to save power while on battery. Go through all of the advanced power settings one by one. Good luck!
