Phone headset as mic not working

i don't have the money to buy a mic for my PC, so i tried using my headset i use for my phone as a mic and doesn't work. i used both jacks on both front panel and the back but i got nothing.
please help me

Pho e headsets use a single plug for headphone and mic whereas a pc uses a separate jack for each so no it won't work without a splitter and for the cost of that you could buy a cheap mic. Even the dollar store by me sells mics and headsets
