Phone wont turn on

I have a kyocera hydro wave and it stopped working for some reason. Ever since I updated it yesterday its been acting weird but I'm not sure if thats the problem or not. I was using it today and I put it to charge then when I looked at it to check the the time it was off, but when I plug it into my laptop I see it connects so I'm not sure whats going on.

Need a bit more details about what is going on. Is it actually off or is the screen only off? What happens when you hold in the power button for about 10 seconds to turn if off fully and try to turn it on? If a computer detects the device when it's on but you can't see anything, the screen may be broken.
