Photo storage system

I have been looking at ways to transfer my pictures to a drive easily and have not had much luck. What I need is a way to plug my SD card into something, and for it to copy all the content across to a Hard Drive. I have a monitor but no hard drive so this needs to be included in the budget. I have a laptop but would preferably use something external to that. I don't mind how it looks - it doesn't even need to be is a case/chassis for all I care - but preferably under £100.

Buy a USB/SD card adapter and use this wonderful "copy" tool. Some Windows versions even give you options to pull them right off when you insert the device.

I'm not getting what the problem is.

SD card reader, laptop, hard drive (either internal or external), done.

Or is there something we're missing?
