picking up channels

I have a tv and an antenna and when i plug it up and do a search i only pick up 5 digital channels. i did an online search and find out that i could get 12 channels easy however the rest of the channels i am missing do not show up. I go to the channel individually and it does not say digital it says analog but only it says that they are digital how do i pick up the rest of the channels? all transmitting towers are the same distance and relatively same location.

If your antenna is not designed for digital TV it would give you less gain at some frequencies. That might limit the channels you get to the ones in the lower part of the spectrum (used to be analog channels 9-13). Most are in the range above this.
