Actually, good for him. If everybody refuses this stupid scan, what they gonna do? Detail-search all the travelers? good luck with that.
For the scan-happy people out there, just a thought: when you start growing a twin one day, don't forget to mention those x-Ray body scans to the oncologist.

Put more sky markshall's in the sky and just let us fly already. You could easily sneak stuff through the security gate, if you really wanted to. I just don't plan on trying.

The real question:
Is there any country that isn't broken in some way? Probably not.

On a side note, can we lessen the gigantic flash ads on these article pages? I feel like I'm playing a game of minesweeper with my mouse on every single article to avoid triggering a full screen advertisement popout. Driving me nuts. Might have to go re-enable my adblock extension if this keeps up.

Pilots should not be subjected to the same procedures. If the pilot wants to kill people, he/she will steer the plane into the ocean or cliff.

"He was then asked if he had a problem with these new procedures and he said yes, because he felt they infringed upon his civil rights and liberty. The TSA investigator said that this was irrelevant..."

Civil rights and liberty irrelevant? Did... WTF? REALLY?

Well, everyone must be screened, pilot and passenger, but not to this extreme. Its very intrusive to a person's privacy. Israel has a much better system on screening potential terrorists. They did not have to rely on technology, but on human behavior. Asking specific questions and looking at the eye to see if they are acting 'normal.' It would have prevented 9/11 had people opened their eyes instead of sleeping on the job.

I'm fairly certain if I actually tried to board a plane naked they'd be a little less than welcoming, so why do I have to be "virtually" naked to get through security?

And if they're so keen on finding out my physique, am I within my rights to charge by the hour/dance? And who do I split the tips with?

Yeah, that's a bit extreme. I don't like the looks of those scanners, and their reaction to him was a bit much.

If he really wanted to refuse the scan and the frisk, just send him home. He can't board a plane if he can't get through security and if he can't get through security then he can't commit a large attack at an airport. Send the poor guy home.

[citation][nom]WhySoBluePandaBear[/nom]Ok, fight the Government and down with TSA, but really guys...why can't he just walk through a scanner? You can't see anything...they're not literally 12 mega-pixel, full color pictures of you nude...they're blurred out, junk quality images that only show obvious things like a hacksaw strapped to your chest. He just has to have a incredibly small penis is all. Something he's obviously insecure about. That, or he's hiding something... hermaphrodite?[/citation]
They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.

Correct me if i am wrong, but planes after 9/11 keep people from getting into the pilots cabin so that they cannot take over the plane.

If so, people could in theory bring bombs or guns or whatever, and cause the plane to crash, killing people on board. So to prevent this, we invent these new scanner that are arguably infringing on human rights, in the name of saving lives.

Assuming the above statements are correct, what about this. If someone wanted to kill a person, why not go to a crowded subway and blow that up? There is almost no security there, and could take out many people. What then, put more security on the subway. Then what about churches? Fast food restruants? workplaces?

I am all for doing what we can to save lives, but when does it stop? It's not like we can have security everywhere, in our house, works, public places. It may help save lives, but it goes against everything this country is based upon, which is freedom. In my opinion a medium must be reached.

/phew - end rant: I feel like i was writing a (probably lousy) paper for college!

Iceland. While the rest of the world may look at it as a financial failure ... it is rich in all the places that matter.
