Archived from groups: alt.video.laserdisc (More info?)
Hello, I've come into possesion of a CLD-D703. It's broken and all it ever
does is display a "no disc". I've opened it up to take a look inside to see
what its doing and once the disc loads the laser rolls up and down and
attempts to focus but then nothing. I've looked into past posts on this
newsgroup and I think I've got a bad laser because the laser must first
recognize a disk before the motor will spin the disc...I think thats right.
Anyways, I was hoping to get some help here...Is there anything I can do to
resolve this or should I just send it in for repair? Also, if it is a bad
laser, how much would it cost to replace it? Any guidance would be helpful,
really.
Thanks, 3rdman
