Question Pioneer DJ DM-40 speakers just stopped working.

I have had the Pioneer DJ DM-40 speakers connected to my turntable and working perfectly for a little over a year now. A couple days ago they just won't turn on at all. Tried a different power cord that I know works and still nothing. I've tested the power output at the wall and all other connected electronics are working fine. I read in a review that this could be a problem with these speakers and I should throw them away and purchase new speakers! - Has anyone heard of this before? Tips?
