Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knew of a source for a Pioneer five position
switch. This would be the part used as a speaker selector/on-off switch
for a SX-650. Any help would be great.

Thanks

I'm looking for the same part for an SX-450, no luck so far. Is it the
on/off that's the causing the problem on your SX-650? I've seen many
references to this switch going bad in the 450, it appears to be a
fairly common problem. At this point I'm trying to find a parts
machine with a good switch.

The switch itself is fine, what's wrong is that the shaft is broken off.
Good luck with your search and post here if you find a source.

That's one solution...perhaps the only one depending on the physical
length of the shaft. I've seen people 'sleeve' pot and switch shafts
with brass tube stock, soldered back to the original. It depends on the
length of the broken stub coming out of the switch, and the material of
which it's made.

Another fix is to find a similar switch from the same maker and swap out
the shaft...or find a 'junker' as a donor.
