Piston 3 compatibility

Don't know where to ask,sorry if I missed some section on forum.

So,are Piston 3 headphones compatible with Xperia Z2? I only found post from December 2014 where a guy says it's not compatible but he was on 4.4 android ,can't find that info anywhere.

Aside from all the flashy marketing, it is just a plain 3.5mm analog earbud type headphone with built-in microphone, it will work with any device designed for four terminals 3.5mm plugs.

I think the same,but I found some posts two days ago where people said how buttons are not working when connected with Z2 and you can get a sound with "sound format converter (with some cable)" ,I don't know sh** about that,can't really explain so I just need answer from someone who tried these headphones on z2...
