Planning on getting a laptop.

1. What is your budget? 500 is the preferred top but i am willing to go 100-200 if the difference is huge.

2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering? 15.6 nothing bigger.

3. What screen resolution do you want? 1920x1080

4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop? Got a monster desktop need a laptop for school, some light gaming.

5. How much battery life do you need? not 100% sure of how much i need but the more the better. i'd say 5 hours++

6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)? Minecraft, Wizard101 mid to high graphics.

7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.) Skype calls allot, and Microsoft office products

8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need? Not sure how much i need again. maybe 250-500

9. If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post their links.

10. How long do you want to keep your laptop? around 4 years maybe 2

11. What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ? dont need.

12. Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons. I dont mind the brand

13. What country do you live in? USA

14. Please tell us any additional information if needed. Decent at computers, dont know much. I would prefer something i wouldnt to upgrade my self or that the upgrade would be minimal.

Yeah you will not be finding any benefit of say a $700 laptop over a $500 laptop except something like a larger SSD or maybe a slightly faster CPU or 16GB memory vs. 8GB. The one you have is 1080p, but just for thought there's a 173" available at 1600x900 resolution for more screen space. It would also give you better gaming performance in FPS:

Personally, I think a 15" screen is too small to fully appreciate 1920x1080 resolution but I have older eyes. I have a 17.3" HP Pavilion laptop and consider that 900p resolution perfect. It can of course drive an external 1080p monitor no problem.

Keep in mind the larger the screen, the shorter the battery life and it will also be heavier if those mean something to you as well. All other things being equal, I don't see a much better value out there than you already found with full HD and a dedicated video card.
