I have an Asus K555la laptop intel core i5 @ 1.6gh running windows 8.1 Pro. Video Playback is lagging and choppy both in vlc and kmplayer. I have downloaded all the latest driver updates and also tried the solutions in vlc website but the problem persists. What are some solutions?

Solution
What type of video are you trying to play? Meaning what is the resolution, that is the frame rate, can you find out what codec was used to encode the video?

I do not think the Intel HD 4400 supports video above 4k @ 30 FPS. So if you are trying to play back 4k video that has been recorded at 60 FPS, then playback is likely to be choppy.
Hi,

Have you tried updating the graphics card driver of your laptop? Please do try these steps that may do the trick.
- Go to Device Manager and uninstall the Intel Graphics driver.
- Next, open Programs and Features then uninstall anything related to Intel Graphics.
- Once uninstalled, download and install the latest driver.
- Here's the link:

- Reboot the laptop once the driver has been installed.
- After the reboot do test it again and see if the same problem will persist or not.
