Ok, Im computer science PhD candidate but, before taking any decision I would like to ask you a piece of advice.

1_What is your budget? 1200 euros == 1620 dollars, perhaps a little bit more.

2_What is the size of the notebook that you are considering? small!!! < 15''

3_What screen resolution do you want? highest possible

4_Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop? desktop

5_How much battery life do you need? 3 or 4 hours...

6_Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)? No, i dont play games

7_What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo / Video editing,watching movies, Etc.)
I work with heavy computing....image processing

8_How much storage (H.D.D Capacity) do you need?
over 350 Gb or more.

9_If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post their links.

Im considering

Studio XPS 13'' but Ive read the processor is overpowered!!
Alienware is awesome....but processor is underpowered 🙁

Any other chance?

Can you be more specific than image processing? It's important because it will affect what kind of video card you need. If it is intensive developer level work, you want a workstation card like FireGl or Quadro. If you want Dell this means Dell Precision, not Alienware or XPS.

Dell Precision M2400 - This is the smallest one at 14.1"

If you needed something for more general use (and still wanted a Dell) then the Studio XPS is fine, just get the fastest CPU that fits your budget.

I work with image processing, C++,OpenCV, intensive math computing operations but im not working on graphics,.

Highest possible screen resolution would seem to point you at Studio XPS 16 where they offer a 1600x900 or 1920x1080 screen resolution on a 15.6" LCD screen.

Studio XPS 13's LCD resolution is 1280x800 only. An older model, being phased out and no longer being sold on the US website.
Studio 15s only offer the 15.6" 1366x768 LCD.

What is more important to you? A smaller size or larger screen resolution?
The actual size of the laptops isn't really all that much different.

To be honest, I would like a small laptop rather than higher resolution.

But arent the Studio XPS processors overpowered?

Ive read that they get hot too fast and the system freeze!! 🙁🙁

You can get Studio XPS 15 with Core i7 processors. These are dependable and quite fast. It will not get hot too fast or freeze.

Take a hard look at the Dell Latitude E6410
You can get it with the 1440x900 resolution 14" LCD screen. It's a better option than Studio XPS 13 IMO.
