Assuming that you already have the technical know-how, then the first place would be to get in touch with Dell to find the requirements to become "Authorized"

TOTALLY agree with the above ^^^^^

Also my Laptop repair company fixes ALL makes of laptops and I am not sure what you expect from being authorised lol....customers just want their lappies fixed.... nothing more....

So far as I know, having a repair done at an authorized repair center won't void the warranty and may be covered under warranty.

With that said, I still wouldn't want the OP touching my 10 year old alarm clock as I'm rather fond of it
