I purchased a Motorola T720 and I'm trying to set up e-mail to the phone. I
finally was able to launch "my wirelesswindow" and I'm receiving mail there
but as of yet, I am unable to get the e-mail to my phone.

After six calls to Cingular, most of them for over an hour, I am no further
in the process than I was in the beginning.

I think it has something to do with e-mail set up on the phone itself.

Please can someone help me?
Thanks in advance

What do you mean when you say "get the e-mail to my phone"? You do know
that email sent to the mailbox address used by "my wirelesswindow"
(userid@mycingular.com) is not "pushed" to the phone? Instead you have
to use the built-in browser to logon (same userid/CingularID and
password as MWW) and then select "email" in the menu choice--then
"inbox". To use the mini-browser at all you have to be paying for
Wireless Internet or WI Express. With Wireless Internet (CSD) I have to
logon everytime to initiate the call but only occassionally have to
enter the userid. I don't have WIX (no GPRS on my phone) but I assume
the browser goes straight to the menu.

The only messages that are "pushed" to the phone are SMS text messages
(sent to phonenumber@mobile.mycingular.com, mycingular.net and possibly
others). And I assume the new MMS stuff is also pushed.

You can set a filter in My WirelessWindow to notify you with an SMS
message whenever an email arrives at mycingular.com but it will only
echo the subject and about 60 chars of the message--it won't send the
entire message.

I have a Nokia phone that I am able to receive and sent email for a couple
of years now. all my email is pushed to the phone. I use (phone
number)@mobile.mycingular .net. When I try to use the T720 to send e-mail,
I receive a message from the phone saying the e-mail setup is incomplete.
When I go to the setup screen I have two blanks- sending host and receiving
host. Everything else is filled in.

That's really SMS ("S" as in "short") being sent thru an email gateway.
Long messages will be truncated and there is no way to access the
original like a true mailbox. My Wireless Window should only be seeing
messages sent to userid@mycingular.com -- if it's seeing anything else
I'm at a loss.

Couldn't say about the Motorola verbage but the Nokia 6340i under
Messages/Settings/Sending Profile has a Message Center Number (phone
number) and an E-Mail Server Number (5 digits). Could be the same.
Maybe CS can tell you what's supposed to be on yours.

Totally different -- that's a true email mailbox there but like I said
it has to be accessed via the browser or from a pc -- it's not sent to
the phone although it can be set to notify you via SMS.

The T720 does not have Pop 3 email client. It does support some limited
web based mail using the wireless window. ( Which can also be access
through you home computer). IT also supports SMS. Cingular does offer a
net and a .com mobile email or sms, this will depend on they type of
service you are using on the phone. The Motorola V400 & V600 does have
a small POP 3 Client installed to pull mail. You do need to have one of
the small WIX data feaures for this to work.

I paid for the internet service on my T720, and have spent too much time
talking to Cingular on the phone without answers....it says my browser
setup is incomplete....how do i complete it? I don't have the WAP IP's
for the phone either...i've searched everywhere online and have only
found verizon's and att's...i'm not sure if this is the only
problem...how do i fix it?
