Hey everyone!

I'm trying to decide which laptop to buy but I'm not sure. I'm not a hardcore gamer (I usually only play adventure games), but I want to buy a good gaming laptop so that I'll get to play those kinda games for 3-4 years without having to buy a new one, or upgrade it. I'll use it as a desktop replacement (work, movies, etc, don't really care about portability) and my main want/need is a good display with vibrant colors.

Laptops' specs that I'd like:
i7-8750H/16GB/1TB+256GB/GeForce GTX 1060 or 1070

I'm not sure about the display. Do I need 120Hz/144Hz panel for movies? Do they make a difference only on gaming? IPS?

As for the size I'm leaning towards 15" laptops (they're cheaper), although I wouldn't mind a 17" with nice colors and a good price.

Here's the list of laptops I'm currently eyeing:

MSI GE73 Raider 8RF-230NL i7-8750H/16GB/1TB+256GB/GTX 1070 8GB/17,3" 120Hz (~2150 euros)
MSI GE73 Raider 8RF-088NL i7-8750H/16GB/1TB+512GB/GTX 1070 8GB/17,3" 120Hz (~2300 euros)
MSI GE63 Raider 8RF-043NL i7-8750H/16GB/1TB+256GB/GTX 1070 8GB/15,6" 120Hz (~2300 euros)
MSI Stealth Thin GS65 8RE-042NL i7-8750H/16GB/512GB/GTX 1060 6GB/15,6" 144Hz (~2150 euros)
MSI Stealth Thin GS65 8RE-040NL i7-8750H/16GB/256GB/GTX 1070 8GB/15,6" 144Hz (~2300 euros)
MSI Stealth GS63 8RE-005NL i7-8750H/16GB/1TB+256GB/GTX 1060 6GB/ 15,6" 120Hz (~1950 euros)
Alienware 15 R4 i7-8750H/16GB/1TB+256GB/GTX 1070 8GB/15,6" (~2300 euros)
Alienware 17 R5 i7-8750H/16GB/1TB+256GB/GTX 1070 8GB/17,3" (~2500 euros)
Alienware m15 i7-8750H/16GB/1TB+256GB/GTX 1060 OC 6GB/15,6" (~2500 euros)
Alienware m15 i7-8750H/16GB/1TB+256GB/GTX 1060 OC 6GB/15,6" 144Hz (~2600 euros)
Alienware m15 i7-8750H/16GB/1TB+256GB/GTX 1070 Max-Q 8GB/15,6" 144HZ(~2850 euros)

I read that MSI Stealth Thin creaks on the left side, and that Alienware laptops can have problems with overheating. I guess it's about luck?

I didn't include Asus Rog laptops cause I find their build quality not so good. However, I'll gladly research any Asus suggestion you throw my way especially if we're talking about a good display.

Good sound is of course a plus and to be honest (don't hate!) I also like blinking lights that's why I chose to buy a gaming laptop!

Thanks everyone, and sorry for the long post!

If you want gaming IPS is not important but if you will do Video Editing is extremly important.

Best Gaming Laptop:
i7 8750h
1050ti or above
16gb ram
1tb hdd & 128gb ssd (or more)
17.3" display
G-Sync & 120 or 144Hz Display

If i would have that money i would go for ASUS ROG series (there are some good one with 17.3" and 120Hz Display)

If you want just to play look for better:
-GPU
-CPU
-HIGH REFRESH RATE DISPLAY (Hz)
-G-SYNC DISPLAY (WILL RUN GAMES SMOOTHER)
-BIG DISPLAY (example: 17.3")

IPS is good for color accuracy (and viewing angles)

Hazbiselmani thanks for your answer.

So you think that none of the laptops on my list is worth the money?

I think only alienware has IPS panels, MSI has IPS-level displays that’s ehat I read at least. However, There are reviews that say that the MSI Stealth thin has a beautiful display with vibrant colors... I don’t know I’m confused

1050 is nothing (even TI, doesn't matter) - go 1060 (6GB!) min. or push 1070 (1060 with 6gb is fine though).

Also go for 256 SSD min. - main game + OS.
