"Please run channel autoscan"

My Element ELEFW195 19" TV is refusing to register HDMI inputs, even after I run the channel autoscan. Does the TV require cable or satellite? If so, is there a way to bypass that so I can only have my consoles connected?

My TV doesn't treat the HDMI as a Channel as assuch but it has on the remote a button to change the Input. HDMI in that list shows number 1 as the TV reception and numbers the other HDMI slots as 2 to 5. Any help?
