Pls I wanna get a laptop but am confused which I should go for. Pls need your view on this. Asus rog strix core i7-7820Hq 32gb ram, 1tb+256ssd with nvidia GeForce 1070 and asus rog strix core i7-8750H 16gb ram 1tb+128ssd nvidia GeForce 1050ti which is best for all round games?

I would say that the i7-7820hq with the 1070 would be better for games. The i7-8750h has more cores but lower clock speed gpu. The extra two cores will make only a slight increase of a performance. Go with the 1070.

Is there a big difference between an i5 and an i7 processor? I'm someone who doesn't play games, but I do need a new laptop that enables me to keep multiple communication apps open 24/7, so I can talk to a variety of different sources. I don't want my laptop to slow down or miss a beat or have any delayed reactions. Would an i5 processor be good enough for my needs?

Also, what minimum RAM meets my needs? 4 or 8?

Finally, should I be concerned about GHz?

Mostly the apps I intend to keep open are Skype, What'sApp and maybe Zoom. But I need my machine to function with speed and efficiency.

8 gigs of ram is okay. 16 is what you should be shooting for. There is also the variable of the speed of the ram. The question about differences between i5 and i7 depends. For the most part it depends on the architecture of the chip and the clock speed (GHz) that it is running at. The more nano-meters the chip the less efficient the chip is. For the most part Skype, What's App, and Zoom are lower power programs. They can essentially run on anything in the last 5 years or 7 years.
