plug PC to TV via HDMI and TV to Active Speakers via toslink

Hi , my current set up is an old PC connect to my SmartTV via HDMI for video and toslink to a pair of active speakers. I am thinking about upgrading to an Intel NUC, but latest NUC serie do not have toslink , so could I plug the NUC to TV via HDMI + Active Speakers to TV via Toslink for the audio?
Would this set u work? Thanks!

This might work, or not. Some TVs do not pass the sound from HDMI inputs to TosLink output.
There are other brands of compact PCs with optical out. You can also consider (even test with your current setup) USB soundcard with optical out.
