Oh my "...adult film industry more than any other faction of media content products." That can't be, not on the global pornography network :)

I do think it's funny how many innocent people are going to get screwed (no pun intended) because the neighbor's kid was using their wireless connection or something like that. It's really hard to be absolutely sure you have the right person, especially if you're going after IP addresses of downloaders that allegedly downloaded the material years prior to the charges being brought.

Irony stings. In the early days of the Internet, Adults content producers loved the internet because it provided a new distribution channel and more customers. People who would never go to an "Adult" bookstore or strip club were now buying porn in the privacy of their home.

The Internet they once loved and praised has come back to bite them and now they wanna change the rules. Sorry, it doesn't work that way. You let the cat out of the bag and he ain't going back.

I don't feel bad for the pron industry in the slightest. They've made billions exploring and manipulating people and now they cry foul when they're the ones on the receiving end.

Hah, you might even say they know plenty about not wanting to be on the receiving end...

Blackmail, pure and simple.

You contest it if you're alleged to have downloaded "Iron Man 2", and if your name shows up in local newspapers so what, you know it'll cost the more in lawyers fees than they'll ever get awarded in court.

But if they claim you downloaded "Teen Anal Nightmare 2", they are pinning their hopes that you'll not want the world to know what you knock one out to, so you'll pay to settle out of court.

That was the strategy of ACS:Law in the UK and they just got their ass handed to them by a mass denial of service attack which caused them to expose the root of their network to the world, including all email correspondence for the last year. That breach of data protection laws will likely bankrupt them and has seen the, ahem, gentlmen porn producers and senior lawyers involved become the target of spam, ID theft, harrasment and a abrupt halt to their dubious quasi legal blackmailing. The irony is that those individuals named in those email exchanges can now sue the porn producerss, the law firms and their own ISP companies for releasing their data in an unprotected format.

It's going to be costly. How secure do you think "West Coast Productions" & "Adult Copyright Company" computer systems are? Not secure enough I'd guess, for a dedicated team of robin hood hackers who want to put a stop to this blackmail and copyright witchhunt.

I doubt the ability of this great society to survive if it is to be subject to your "feelings". - not ver batim, from Equilibrium.

Same is the legal system. The pron industry is correct, no matter your stance on how they now condemn what they once promoted.

Seriously, with those kinds of names for porno's, which seriously sound like low grade porno's, it has to be every ones 13 year old boy downloading it.

Yes, I did mean the Internet. Was just a joke hence the smiley face. With all the porn out there and the porn industry being one of the first ones to really jump on the internet at its infancy, hence the "global pornography network", I thought rather amusing that this even made news. I mean really is anyone really shocked at this?

Phat Azz White Girls 5 was MUCH better. Oh wait, I mean, what is this "pornography" of which you speak?

No doubt that most of the porn circulating the web is not paid for. I guess because people see it as sleazy and immoral they have no problem stealing it. Still, would you rather be sued by the MPAA for downloading "Hulk" or by the ACC for downloading "Phat Azz White Girls 6"? I see many sealed settlements in the future.

MPAa. RIAA, Gene Simmons, and now the XXX powers. This is going to draw attention in a such a way the Feds will have to step in. Illegal Downloads = Lawsuits. The goct will start monitoring the internet even more because they will be forced to.

Teen Anal Nightmare 2 ... so does this mean that the first Teen Anal Nightmare did so well, in spite of being illegally downloaded, that they made a squal? I would LOVE to be sitting in the court room when the prosecution tried to defend Teen Anal Nightmare with a strait face! lol

Apparently they didn't learn the lesson from Hustler when Anonymous nuked their site. It seems that they don't understand it. I like my porn but not faked porn movies. When they decide to make real porn I'll buy it from them, until then i stick to amateur porns and free downloads through BT. I guess it's their turn to be DDoSed by the masses of Anonymous.
