hi
i have a standard router at home connected to my pc
+ my laptop connected with it + 12 wireless devices

now i need a portable router for my laptop. one of this?
HooToo HT-TM02 or TP-LINK TL-MR3020
i tried to ask manufacturer support how many connection this device can hold simultaneously
and their answer was between 5 to 8 devices

does it make sense that the portable routers cannot hold as much devices as a regular router?

what is the actual limitation on routers - the number of connections? or bandwidth?
thank you

Portable routers have theoretical limits as high as regular routers. However, the maximum number of devices as recommended by the manufacturer is due to the much lower processing power of portable routers as opposed to full-sized routers.

Also I recommend the TP-Link device. It comes with 3G/4G support, which may prove useful at some point.
