Hey guys first time here.

I got this used laptop few days ago, and i'm having issues gaming on it.

First of all, my laptop is a Acer Aspire 8930G, with these specs:

Intel Core 2 Duo T6600 2,2ghz
4GB DDR3 800MHz RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 9700M GT 512MB GDDR3
65W HIPRO HP-A0652R3B Power adapter
Battery is working fine but is drained pretty quickly, has 70% wear level.

So the issue is, when i'm gaming for 5-10min the power adapter turns off.
From what i can gather online it has a safety that if it overheats it turns off, but it's not getting super hot when i touch it.

My guess is that the power adapter cannot give the laptop enough power cause it's only 65W.

But i need to make sure before i purchase a 90W power adapter.

So if anyone knows whats going on here i would be very grateful!

I purchased an ASUS laptop a couple years ago that came with a power adapter that wasn't the correct wattage. The only difference is you are saying that the adapter itself isn't actually hot to the touch when it shuts down. The adapter may also just be bad. If you have the money, I would recommend investing in a more powerful adapter.

Thanks for the reply.

90W is all i can afford right now, but wasn't a smart decision i think cause i bought also brand new Q9000 wich will arrive later this week or next week.

T6600 uses 25w i think? and the Q9000 has a TDP of 45w, i might as well wait till i can afford a much better adapter till i put it in.
