I have just replaced the power Jack does anyone know how to test connections prior to re-installing motherboard into laptop.

I want to check that I have soldered properly and connections are good.

Thanks
Andy

you should be able to bench test it by plugging in the charger and pushing the little button that would be below

the on -off switch

dont do this if you removed the cpu heatsink

if the cpu fan spins then powers going through the power jack and you can re-assemble it

You risk damaging something if you apply power. You need an ohmeter to check continuity between the contacts on the jack and the solder pads on the MB.
